Background
The ABS produces hundreds of statistical reports every year, some of which are created using data
collected from household surveys. One important national household survey is the Monthly
Population Survey (MPS), which has been carried out since 1960 to provide information about the
Australian population and workforce on a regular basis.
The nation’s employment and unemployment figures are produced from this survey and the results are used by the Reserve Bank, Commonwealth and state government, industry and business groups, trade unions and academics to make important decisions about the economy, employment programs, industry support and education.
Our role
Missing Bits Productions were asked to produce 2 animated videos; one of which was to focus on the Monthly Population Survey and the other to give insight into the ABS and householder surveys more generally.
